Sekinchan and Kuala Selangor Daily Tour by Sam
After our first trip to Gua Tempurung & Sg. Klah Hot Spring, this time is Sam's turn to organize tour to Sekinchan and Kuala Selangor. We - urban kids are alway wondering how's it like living among paddy fields and fishing villages... Though very tired after the team building, without hesitation I gave my promised to join. This time we have a new member - 'Lin Lin' and missed out Elbert.
With the aching and tired body we met in HK's house again. I'm the first person to reach there again followed by KS and Sam. Good to have fun with them again ;) Ei, missing one participant. KS told us this bad news - 'Lin Lin' can't join us cause she's still in Genting... HUH?? Promise to join yet now in Genting??? Then only found out that she's 'FFK Queen'- those who like to break promise.
As usual Mac-D breakfast again :S I'll skip that since we'll be having another breakfast in Sekinchan. I'll reserved my stomach for that.
Once reach Sekinchan, we went around for "Soon Guan Restaurant" - famous for fish head dish. The '老板娘' (lady boss) was a very nice and friendly lady. Since only 4 of us, she introduced us to take the whole fish instead of fish head since all the fish head is too large and 'Romaine lettuce'.
According to the '老板娘', she just boiled the fish and added ithe seasoning like sesame oil, light soy sauce garnishing with slices of red onion, spring onion and coriander leaves. Once it's served, she squeezed in the lime juice to bring out the freshness of the fish. Though it just a simple dish but the lime juice really bring out our appetite.
The Romaine lettuce was a simple oily vege style cook which is called as '油菜' in Chinese. With the friend onion and garlic on top of the lettuce really give a great aroma to this simple oily Romaine lettuce.
When she saw that we didn't really cleaned up the fish, she teaches us how to eat the fish especially the fish head. There're a lot of good stuff there such as fish eyes and the fish brain. You need to suck the brain juice from the fish brain where all the essence was there.
Due to the fish was so fresh and delicious. Sam and HK are two of the fish cleaner. You can just found bone left on the plate. The whole meal just cost us RM32 for the fish, lettuce, rice and tea.
Before coming to Sekinchan,my friend had told me that the paddy harvest is over. I never gave up and asked the '老板娘' again. She told us that the paddy already being harvested in Sekinchan but... Sungai Besar just started and it's just around 30 minutes from there. Huray!!! "I don't care, I want to go though it's not in the itinerary!", I told Sam.
Some of the 'Matrix Post' in Sekinchan harvested paddy field. Haha......
Wah, finally I have the chance to view the ocean of golden paddy in Sungai Besar. Without any delay, I just jumped down with my camera and took pictures around ;)
Later we went to the fishing village. Today the fisherman will be coming back late as told by the '老板娘' thus we don't have the chance to see the lively fish market. We just loaf around the temple and beach near by the fish village.
Guess what? I found this lovely tree, how could I missed climbing? 'Monkey Gal' is coming... Hehe.....
Enjoying myself under the shaded tree after being a 'Monkey Gal'. Give a peace!
We just have a light lunch at one of the Malay stall there. And we're cheated by the price list on the wall. The price is RM0.50 - RM1 higher than the price list :(
Later we spend the whole afternoon at Kuala Selangor Nature Park - Taman Alam (RM4 per pax). We didn't bring binocular along thus it was a rather boring and tiring visit. The park looked much more like being neglected and abandoned.
Around 5pm we went up Bukit Malawati with tram (RM2 per pax) which is located next to Taman Alam. You'll never imagine the fortress was full of silvered-leaf monkey. There was an unexpected free show shown by the silvered-leaf monkey.
The moment we have waited arrived after the long walked at Taman Alam - seafood dinner!!! Sam had did some homework and found that there are two recommended restaurant at Pasir Penambang - "Jetty Seafood Restaurant" and "River View Seafood Restaurant". We have picked the later.
As recommended we tried out the crab(cooked with milk and curry powder), steam mantis shrimp, oyster omelette, fried bun for the crab source and one vege cooked in thai style.
Of course, we ordered the fresh coconut since we're so exhausted. Coconut water was the best drink to cool down our temperature and thirst. The bil ended at RM80. It's just nice for 4 of us, not too full like alway. The price was reasonable.
The rain didn't stopped after our dinner. We waited until 8pm and finally the rain became lighter. It will be the highlight of this tour - Kampung Kuantan Fireflies Park which is famous for "kelip-kelip" (fireflies). The rain stopped when we reached there. It cost RM40 per boat for 4 pax. Just nice. Luckily 'Lin Lin' didn't come.
Unexpectedly I met with my Form 5 classmate who origin from Tanjung Karang. Actually this morning I just thought of her. What a small world.
Too bad that I can't took pictures of the sparkling christmas tree. Please do visit it as soon as possible as the population is becoming lesser and lesser due to global warming and pollution.

Sam gave us a demo on how to eat the fish eyes.
